My name is Lindsay Richards. I am 35 yrs old, married to Rico and we have two girls; Elke, 6 and Martha, 3. I run a Theatre in Education company in partnership with my business partner Chris working, on average, four days a week. We live in the semi-rural village of Honley, West Yorkshire.

Our youngest daughter, Martha has been experiencing some developmental problems over the last couple of years and I have decided to blog about our journey, to share some of the experiences we have with Martha, with others. My aim is to help others who might be going through similar experiences, by opening up a sharing platform; also to create a wider understanding of learning difficulties and other such developmental delays. Entirely selfishly, I also think that logging the journey along the way, will probably be quite cathartic for me.

Finally, I want to share with you all the positives and funny sides of being Martha’s mummy – because, as many of you are already aware – there are many and they are far too amusing to keep to ourselves.

So I hope you enjoy following us on our journey and that I can help shed a little light, love and laughter, on what can often be an issue that is kept behind closed doors.
